Deanna Oye in recital at St. Matthew’s

Deanna Oye will be in recital at the ex Cathedra Concert on Sunday, March 7, 3 p.m. at St. Matthew's Cathedral.

Dr. Oye is a graduate of Brandon University (Master of Music degree in piano performance) and holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music from the Eastman School in Rochester, N.Y. Since joining the faculty of the University of Lethbridge, the Thunder Bay native has continued an active performance career in addition to her teaching duties, appearing in solo and in collaborative recitals in Canada and the United States.

Dr. Oye is a three-time recipient of the Government of Canada's grant for female doctoral students, and of the 2000 National Association of Japanese Canadians SEAD grant. She is currently on sabbatical leave to pursue various performing and research opportunities, and will be an adjudicator of piano at the Brandon Festival of the Arts in early March.
