Random typings from the keyboard:
Have you ever felt like an auto company, and you wanted to recall a decision you made?
It could have been anything from regretting actually buying that car, to the clothes you wore, to work the other day, to why did I have kids? (Although that is a question that seems to be asked by parents at least once a day but then quickly forgotten when the driveway needs clearing.)
Unfortunately we can't just turn back the hands of time or rely on the government to bail us out for decisions that may have not been the wisest.

A confession (one that may surprise some of you and certainly my editor): Sometimes we media pundits can be harsh. While we type and say what some think and just don't want to admit to, we do take our lumps and rightfully so.
However, watching the Olympics and listening to some of the media types drone on about how disappointing the country's medal count has been and how some of the athletes didn't live up to expectations got to be just a bit much.
All the athletes, whether they won gold or placed last, did something most of us will never do.
They made it to the Olympics, which is a feat of major proportions in itself.
Very few can say they competed in luge, figure skating or bobsleigh for their country at the Games.
The pundits, who for the most part haven't competed in anything athletic that didn't involve downing a pint or five, should try to compete against the so-called last-place finisher in any given event and see how they do.
Having said that, it's time to be my cranky ol' self.
Brandon has adopted a youth plan. It calls for the establishment of a youth centre. Hey just what we need, another empty room. As someone so aptly put it, we have community centres that sit vacant, for the most part, gyms that aren't being used and outdoor facilities that lack bodies on them, so let's create another plan.
Why don't we just use what we have?

Nice to see democracy in action and a few people slamming city hall and the school board. Keep in mind, folks, elections are this fall and it is your chance to come out of anonymity and make a difference. And you will actually get paid to say what you are saying now for free.

An interesting experiment: If you know someone under the age of about 15, show them a watch that has an old-fashioned face. You know, the kind with an hour and minute hand, and possibly a third hand that indicates the seconds. In other words, no digital readout.
Ask them to tell you what time it is.
Don't bet against them not being able to tell what time it is.
