Dear Editor:

Awesome coverage on the closure of CKX and such a great tribute to some of the employees.

I am writing this letter in response to an editorial in another publication. While everyone is entitled to their own view and opinion, I, for one, was very disappointed in the writer's lack of respect for the employees of CKX and what was a very viable business in the city of Brandon. Do they not have an ounce of concern for anyone but themself? I can't believe their hard hearted comments! Afraid of the competition? They should be commending them, not bashing them for trying to do something right!

As for their comment about one media outlet remaining strong and open — following emailing this letter to the editor, I will also be emailing the circulation department and cancelling my subscription! Maybe something a lot of people should consider in support of CKX employees who lost their jobs and Brandon city council for trying to do something about it. Brandon and area wouldn't be anymore affected if they lost the daily paper either.

Keep up the good work, Wheat City Journal. I will continue to read your paper.
